Birds I’ve Seen From The Porch Swing

This list probably isn’t complete but, over the years, I’ve seen at least all of these. I’m no birder, binoculars in hand, but when you spend most of your life outdoors, you pick up a few things. I think the only ones on this list that I had to look up when I saw them were the ovenbird and the chipping sparrow. Of course I kept my Peterson’s Guide handy when I fed the birds as a teenager.

I enjoy watching and identifying the birds that visit too. I had an Osprey fly down and attempt to take one of my chickens. He didn't get her, but he did inflict some fatal damage. Bird must have been very young or very hungry to go after a chicken.
