More Aggravations Of Old Age

-
I admit it, my mental abilities were never the best, but they’ve slipped a bit on me. Sometimes when I make a post on my blog, I come back later to discover it sitting there as a draft where I’d clicked the wrong button. Other times, I make the next morning’s post ahead, then go watch 1-4 hours of “Murder She Wrote.” Later, sometime after midnight, I post it. Unfortunately, I sometimes go on and post it out of habit and the next morning’s post goes up sometime between 10:30PM and midnight. Last night when I went to post the next morning’s post, I noticed that the previous night’s post was still sitting there as a draft. So, last night’s post and this morning’s went out at the same time.

This morning, when the servant’s bell rang at 6:30AM for me to take out Her Royal Lowness, I wasn’t sure whether it was morning or evening, so I had to look to see if the sun was hitting my bedroom blind. It was, so that meant that I wasn’t being roused early from a late afternoon nap but was being woke up from my night’s sleep and it was Thursday. I won’t even go into how often I “live the wrong day.” I had a mind once (or at least half of one). Copyright 7/2/2020

My friend, it happens to the best of us. The wife and I can be discussing something and 5 minutes later I am asking her if I am supposed to doing something. Funny, I can remember exactly what drawer a tool is in or where I left a widget, but some of the simplest things just flow right out.

I've done a lot of that too. More often now it seems I go to pick up something and by the time I get there I forget what I went to get. Really annoying.

lol - Remember, Pumice, there's nothing new under the sun.

Haha - I've always heard that we tend to remember only the things that are most important to us, but I think even THAT changes as we age, CM.

Ralph, is that anything like finding myself going upstairs and wondering why? ;-)

Going upstairs at our age is a commitment! I will write a note detailing what it is I need before I go up there... Don't worry Mr. Gorges, you are a fine member of that club, Oldhimers. In fact I heard your named being mention and battered around as the new President.

C, if nominated, I will not accept, if elected, I will not serve! I think I read that somewhere. - lol
