Back To Buckets

I grew up with a "slop-jar." The women used it at night and even Dad and I sometimes used it at night in the dead of winter when it was under 20 degrees and windy. Mom, Dad and myself took sort of unofficial turns emptying and cleaning it. My sister somehow escaped the task, as she did many things.

Most of you have known that I've been using a drywall bucket with a camping seat upstairs in my bedroom at night. Recently, my wife and I have been having so much trouble getting to the bathroom that she now has a bucket by her TV and I have one in my office. They're a pain to fool with, but they beat racing nature to the bathroom.

I've had to use a walker this past year, with a night light in the bathroom. I leave it parked immediately outside the bathroom door.
