Update on the women in my life

 -

After being put off several times to a later date, my sister had time to think it over and decide NOT to get chemo. All they could do was prolong her life, not save it, and she didn't feel that it was worth it. It's not that she's in severe pain, but extreme discomfort, and she just doesn't see the need of prolonging that when she's good with where she's going anyway.

Mom is not doing good with her therapy. She's having trouble walking and all the effort has her knee in a mess. The young people doing the therapy think the knee will improve with more exercise, which proves that they know nothing about aging. Also, the exercises for her wrist is making her shoulder ache continually.

My wife is not improving and her left leg is now darker than her right leg. She knows the implications but has chosen not to see a doctor, basically mirroring my sister's attitude. Her pain continues to be severe at times.

As if that isn't enough, my right knee is killing me and my left arm is nearly useless anymore. It never was right, even as a kid, but I now find myself supporting it with my right arm when I use it. It gets really awkward at drive-through windows. As I typed this paragraph, I smiled at the memory of the guys on Hee-Haw singing "If it weren't fer bad luck..." Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Praying for you, brother.

I've lost family over the years to age-related things, but not my wife(yet).

I cannot imagine what you are experiencing, but only hope that our Holy God will comfort you and them during this time.

Seeing them all in heaven is a wonderful hope!

May God Bless you, and God-Speed to you loved ones.

Scott

You all are going through difficult times, and I'm truly sorry for it. I understand the decisions being made and why, even if they seem to go against the human grain. I think knowing where you're going is key. Praying for grace for you and the women in your life.

Yes, Leigh, knowing makes all the difference.

The updates help. My mother made the same decision on her second bout of chemo.

Grace and peace
